OST Electronics To Deploy Campus Wide Area Network At GMCH

OST Electronics, a sub-distributor in north India is deploying campus wide area network at the Chandigarh Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

Initially, GMCH approached SPIC (the IT arm of Chandigarh government) for networking solution and support services on turnkey basis on their campus. Subsequently, they signed an agreement to deploy Local Area Networking across the college, hospital and residential area in the campus, in a phased manner. The project is estimated at `2.29 crore.


According to an official release, SPIC is the consultant-cum-project executing agency for the project. It will coordinate with GMCH and OST Electronics for implementation of the project and functioning of the networking. It will provide the essential manpower and technical support for initial five years after the successful completion of the entire networking.

OST Electronics will prepare network design, diagram and implementation plan for networking along with entire technical specifications of the network to be implemented. SPIC will ensure supervision, appropriate quality checks and network testing and certification.

Apart from that OST Electronics will provide AMC of the equipments, software upgrades for initial five years after the completion of networking.

“By successfully implementing the project within the stipulated time, OST shall augment its focus on healthcare and would ensure bigger presence in the vertical,” said Dinesh Sharma, Managing Director, OST Electronics.

“OST has plenty of technical value additions to offer in projects of such magnitude which would make the client feel its worth for better ROI in terms of its increased services advantage for the patients,” he added.
